For my retail store project I hope to create my own auto parts retail store similar to an AutoZone, O’Reilly’s Auto Parts, and Advance Auto Parts stores. I hope to have a large stock area with all the parts I need that are make and model specific in a room that my employees and I can navigate to retrieve parts for our customers who need them, as fast as we possibly can. My auto parts retail store will also include a repair garage will we are going to hire mechanics to repair people’s cars for them so they can buy the parts for their cars, as well as fix the car all in the same place. Another feature to my retail store that kind of veers off the retail aspect, would be a waiting room for the customers that choose to use our auto repair service with a few televisions and magazines as well for the customers to read while they wait for their cars to be fixed. I would include a few sofas and chairs so they can make themselves comfortable at the same time. I hope to create a play area for the kids that are waiting with their parents as well so they don’t become bored after while if it is a big job. We will have a restroom location at the rear of the store for the convenience of our customers, as well as vending machines in the waiting room for the hungry customers. Similar to what AutoZone currently does today, we will offer free check engine light code readings for our customers with a printout of the code that was pulled so if they choose not to have us repair it, their mechanic will know what’s wrong and what’s needed to be fixed as soon as he gets the printout. This specialized auto parts and repair store will be based on making the customer as happy and satisfied with their service as we can possibly give them. The exterior of the building will most likely be constructed by stone and concrete for maximum strength, while the interior of the store will have exposed steel beams almost like you would see in a store like Walmart. I would like the location of my store to be in Somerset or somewhere in Bristol County.
As I've been spending most of my classroom hours \working on my Capstone English project on redrafting the other home, there has been a noticeable lack of progress in my auto parts store project. In this image, you can observe that I outlined the outside of the building along with the garage and shop space for the repairmen to do there work. I also placed a slab on top of the entrance, with a 10 foot lower ceiling than the rest of the store.
